The Dubai Government Health Authority (DOHMS) operated the 454 bed general medical / surgical Rashid Hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Built in 1973, the hospital is one of the oldest in the United Arab Emirates. In 2006 the new Trauma Center was opened which can handle a large number of Trauma treatment simultaneously. Within the complex is also a medical library. The Department of Health is planning to build a new hospital complex with 500-700 beds within the current complex.
