The hospital has a vacancy for a Medical Transcriptionist

  • Educational Requirements: High school graduate. Completion of advanced course in ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-AM coding. Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification Requirements: Coding certification by AAHIMA preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ medical records experience.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Minimum of one (1) year computer operations experience desirable. Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards.
  • Working knowledge of electronic health record (HER)
  • Current knowledge of JCIA standards.
  • Current knowledge of ICD-10-AM coding practices and standards .

Abu Dhabi: Manager Health Audit (2552)

Our client is overseeing hospitals in the United Arab Emirates and managing compliance and quality of care.

They are looking for a Manager of Health Audit

The position manages, plans and educates employees in the requirement of all inspection functions as they process, review and assess privaye and public healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other related medical facilities and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Provide direction and manage employees in the Inspection Department in performing their delegated tasks;

  • Delegate and monitor departmental functional goals, objectives and programs;
  • Align the Inspection Department long term and short term strategic goals and objectives based on the vision,
  • mission and overall objectives of HAAD;
  • Initiate pro-active analysis and advice on key strategic areas relative to the Inspection Department;
  • Oversee the development of the Inspection Department performance improvement initiatives, recommend
  • changes where seen necessary and ensure that corrective action plans and strategic initiatives are identified
  • and implemented accordingly;
  • Ensure that Inspection Department plans are capable of meeting the needs of HAAD in the future;
  • Prepare reports on the overall performance of the Inspection Department for the Director – Health System
  • Compliance;
  • Review all periodic reports prepared by Inspection Department to ensure that they are prepared in a timely
  • manner;
  • Review and quality assure all services and work products delivered by the Inspection Department;
  • Ensure that the performance of various tasks and the conduct of the staff in the Inspection Department are in
  • accordance with the HAAD policies and procedures;
  • Advise the Director – Health System Compliance on the progress of all work under their control.

Organizational Role:

  • Ensure availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the Inspection Department and
  • ensure effective utilization of staff;
  • Review (as a second / third level reviewer) and discuss with the appraiser, areas of concern, if any, and
  • approve periodic performance appraisals of departmental employees;
  • Perform periodic performance appraisals for Section Heads of the Department (in coordination with HR
  • Section);
  • Identify required skills and knowledge and nominate staff to attend appropriate training programs in order to
  • acquire them (in coordination with HR Section);
  • Ensure that divisional policies and procedures are documented and adhered to and that all staff in the
  • Department adhere to the HAAD code of conduct;
  • Manage on-site Inspection operations;
  • Review investigations of controlled substances and the inappropriate use of drugs in coordination with
  • relevant law enforcement authorities;
  • Review investigations of consumer complaints related to pharmacy, hospitals and clinics;
  • Execute the penalization of pharmaceutical outlets that continue to be non-compliant after several
  • notifications and inform the Director – Health System Compliance accordingly;
  • Order suspension of pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities posing threat to consumers
  • after consulting with Director – Health System Compliance;
  • Review reports and statements relevant to prosecutions and suspensions of healthcare facilities in
  • accordance with established procedures;
  • Supervise the destruction of controlled substances in coordination with law enforcement agencies;
  • Provide testimony regarding investigations at Licensing Committee meetings and contested case hearings as required;
  • Receive and review enquiries on behalf of the Director – Health System Compliance and co-ordinate with
  • the concerned personnel in the Department to provide necessary clarifications;
  • Attend management, committee, divisional meetings and conferences related to Inspection as requested by
  • the Director – Health System Compliance and prepare related material for Department briefings;
  • Represent the Inspection Department in Panels and subcommittee(s);
  • Manage the control of financial budgets within the Inspection Department, and provide any associated
  • reports as required by the Director – Health System Compliance;
  • Perform such other related tasks as delegated by the Director – Health System Compliance.

The candidates should have a strong background in quality, compliance and Healthcare and a degree in health management.
